The AMD Athlon XP 2500+ was a desktop processor with 1 core, launched in February 2003, at an MSRP of $172. It is part of the Athlon XP lineup, using the Barton architecture with Socket A. Athlon XP 2500+ has 512 KB of L2 cache and operates at 1833 MHz. AMD is building the Athlon XP 2500+ on a 130 nm production process using 63 million transistors. The multiplier is locked on Athlon XP 2500+, which limits its overclocking capabilities.
With a TDP of 68 W, the Athlon XP 2500+ consumes typical power levels for a modern PC. Although the processor doesn't come with integrated graphics, certain motherboards with compatible chipsets can provide this capability.
